 The Magical Qabalah
Minimize

The Magical Qabalah is the name of this "map" of our whole self.  Ancient in origin, for centuries it was transmitted orally and then, only to initates.  Schools like the Servants of the Light, SOL, are trusted with the task of holding this torch and passing it on to those who who have a hunger for a something deeper and more meaningful in their lives. Do not be frightened by the word Magic, it signifies something deep, wise and profoundly good in the human soul, a set of techniques whereby that search for meaning can be turned inward to the source of everything.

SOL has an authentic traditional and historial lineage.  Historically, it dates back to the Golden Dawn, a ground-breaking esoteric school that was formed in London in the 1890s.  The Golden Dawn brought together all the threads of magical science that existed in the world at that time.  It synthesised them into an enhanced body of knowledge and gave the world a new method of learning esoteric science.  Techniques like Pathworking derive from the inner levels of the Golden Dawn, and respected writers like Israel Regardie have written extensively about its teachings and influence. One of Regardie's most profound texts, the "The Art of True Healing" is provided as part of the course material to the SOL student and used as a reference model in the early Main Course lessons.

Other schools developed as daugher schools or spin-offs from the Golden Dawn, among them Dion Fortune's Society of the Inner Light.  From this, in the 1960s, a man named Ernest Butler created a new school, The Servants of the Light, which has flourished ever since.  Its Director of Studies, Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, herself a disciple of Butler, is a world famous author and teacher, and, despite being in her 80s, still takes an active role in teaching and in the running of workshops.

Together, these Schools of the Soul were and are known as the Western Mystery Tradition.  The core teaching symbol of this tradition is called the Tree of Life.
